Transcript: You Can Do Both: Balancing School and Family

I mean a lot of things I hear are women saying, "Oh I'm not going to be a scientist because I want to have kids, and I absolutely would hate to see that happen. Women look at science in a completely different and innovative way. Men do too, but we have different ways of thinking about problems. I think more scientific problems are solved with women's way of thinking through the problem. No, you can't just give up because you want to have a family. You can have a family and do good science, and you just have to juggle it. I think it's going to get better in terms-with what you guys are doing things like this. It's going to get better in terms of university settings, understanding more what women need to be successful.
