Problem-Solving is a process and you will probably recognize the four steps from your scientific and technical work: Assess the Problem, Specify the Outcome, Strategize Solutions, and Execute and Evaluate. What is unique in the Coach Problem-Solving process is that we help you apply these steps to personal and interpersonal problems in the STEM context and we integrate the latest social science research along the way. These materials are intended to help you feel more confident about your ability to handle both everyday and tough problems as well as develop strategies to be successful, both personally and professionally.

As you follow the four steps on the Coach, you will find dozens and dozens of skill-building units, self-tests, interactive learning opportunities, and personal testimonials from women scientists and engineers. Working through these four steps is the best way to take advantage of all the resources on the Coach. We recommend this path if you are new to the site.
